Competite compares your product with your competitors from their public pages and tells you when they change something. This page says what we collect to do that, where it goes, how long it stays, and what you can ask of us. Nothing is hidden in a longer document; this is the whole of it.

What we collect, and why
- Your account. You sign in with Google. We keep the email address and the name Google gives us, the time you signed in, and the browser and network address of each session so you can see and end them under Settings. Your browser also carries a random marker for a year, so we can tell a browser you have used before from a new one and email you when a new one signs in. We never see a password.
- What you add. Your product's website or the description you write of it, the competitors you add, the pages you confirm we may read, the documents you paste or upload, and the settings you choose. This is the substance of the product; without it there is nothing to compare.
- What we read for you. The text of the public pages you confirmed, read on a schedule, and the reports, changes and alerts built from them. Reports quote those pages; they do not contain anything about you beyond what you added.
- Usage. How many reports, reads and searches your account has used this month, so the plan's limits can be applied, and a log of the runs made for your account. Not the content of those runs.
- Billing. If you buy a plan, the merchant of record (below) collects your payment details and invoice address. We receive the plan, its status and dates, and a customer reference; never a card number.
- Security records. Sign-ins refused, addresses rejected, limits hit: kept so abuse can be seen and stopped. They carry your account reference and the address that was refused, not page content.
We also keep a count of page views on our own server: a day, a page, the site you came from if there was one, and a number. No cookie, no IP address, no browser details, nothing that identifies you and nothing that links one visit to the next. It is not personal data. It is the count we work from, and unlike Google it cannot be blocked by an extension, because it never touches your browser.
Email, and what we rely on to send it
Your address comes from Google when you sign in, and we use it for three different things that rest on three different grounds.

We record when you gave consent and when you withdrew it, because we have to be able to show which it was. We do not sell, rent or share your address with anyone for their own marketing.
Where it goes
These are the services that process data on our behalf. Each one gets only what its job needs.

We do not sell data, we do not advertise, and nothing you add reaches anyone outside this list. The pages we read are public; we read them through our provider's reader, we respect a site's robots rules, and we never sign in anywhere on your behalf.
How long it stays
- Your account and everything in it: until the account is closed, which you ask for by writing to us. Deletion removes your products, competitors, pages, documents, reports, alerts and settings at once, and your sign-in with them.
- Page text we read: replaced by the next read; older versions are kept only as long as a report or a change record quotes them, and go with your account.
- Billing records: as long as the law on invoices requires, with the merchant of record.
- Security records and server logs: ninety days at most.
What you can ask
You can see everything we hold on you by downloading it under Settings, correct your description and settings yourself, and have the account deleted by writing to us. For anything else, including a question about this page, write to hey@competite.com; we answer within thirty days. We are in the United States. If you live in California you have the rights the CCPA gives you, including to know, to delete and not to be discriminated against for asking; we do not sell or share personal information. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have the rights the GDPR gives you and may complain to your data protection authority; your data is processed in the United States under the safeguards our processors publish.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a change that matters to you is announced by mail before it applies.
