What Competite stores in your browser, why, for how long, and how to change your mind. Nothing here is hidden in a longer document; this is the whole list.
Necessary
These make the product work. They are set without asking, because there is no product without them.

Analytics
Google Analytics tells us how many people visit, from where, and which pages they read, so we know what to improve. We do not ask before it runs, and you should know what that means:
- Google sets its analytics cookies in your browser, for up to two years, for every visitor. They let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. There is no banner and no switch on this site to stop them.
- Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, and no advertising cookies are set. Nothing goes to Google for advertising or ad personalisation.
- Nothing you add to Competite, your product, your competitors or your reports, is ever sent to Google.
- If you would rather not be counted, block it in your browser: a tracker-blocking extension, or the third-party cookie controls in Chrome, Firefox and Safari. That works, and we do not try to get around it.
Our own visit counter
Separately from Google, our server records visits to the public website: the pages and times, IP address, browser details, country supplied by our network, and the referring site or campaign. A one-way key groups page requests into a visit, and the detailed records are deleted after ninety days. It does not set or read a cookie, does not follow you across other sites, and excludes signed-in product pages. The aggregate daily page totals we keep alongside it contain no visitor identifier. Removing what is already there
Clearing this site's data in your browser removes every cookie above. You will be signed out, and the next sign-in from that browser will look like a new device.
